Black Rose - Fictional by name, yet felt deeper than reality.
Region: Dubai
The name Black Rose sounds like it's hiding something. It was meant to. There is no truly black rose in nature. The ones people call black look black in the shade, but hold them under the sun and you'll see they're deep maroon. The roses of Halfeti in Turkey come closest, and even then it lasts only a few weeks each summer before they turn red again. So the name is less about colour and more about a mood. There are plenty of sweet rose perfumes. This isn't one of them. It opens with black pepper and a cold edge of bergamot. Nothing sweet about it, more of a hard, sharp beginning. The rose does arrive, but heavy and metallic, serious rather than sweet, which is exactly why men can wear this without a second thought. The ending is soft, though. Wood, amber and musk settle in and blend into your skin. The scent that pushed you away at first is the one that pulls you close a few hours later.

How it unfolds
Behind the scent
Black Rose attar comes mainly from Bulgaria, Turkey, and France. Bulgaria's Rose Valley grows Rosa Damascena, and roughly 70% of the world's rose oil originates there. Turkey's Isparta region cultivates both Rosa Damascena and Rosa Centifolia, lending a spicy, fruity edge. France's Grasse, the historic capital of perfumery, still uses the old enfleurage technique to produce the most refined absolutes. Pure Black Rose attar carries a hefty price tag because of this, three to six thousand dollars per kilogram, reflecting low yield and heavy labor.
The Scent Journey
The first 15 minutes bring a sharp, citrusy burst of bergamot and pepper. Between 20 to 60 minutes, the true heart emerges, a deep floral character with a faint metallic edge. Hours later, a warm woody base of sandalwood, labdanum, and musk settles in. As one master perfumer put it, wearing this Black Rose attar feels like fighting through a thorn bush forest to find that one magical black rose.
Benefits and Feel
Black Rose attar isn't just a scent, it's a tool for confidence and presence. It carries a rare balance of mystery and elegance that ordinary floral attars don't offer. Whether it's an evening event, a special moment, or just wanting to announce your presence in a room, this attar does the job.
Longevity and Sillage
This Black Rose attar typically lasts 5 to 7 hours on skin. In colder weather, the base notes evaporate more slowly, extending its longevity, making it ideal for evenings and winter wear. In summer, it's best applied lightly to avoid overwhelming projection.
Best Application Points
Applying the attar to the neck, behind the ears, and the wrists lets body heat gradually release the scent. Hair holds fragrance the longest, since hair fibers retain it far better than skin does.
